Master's Pansori
Park Bongsul Style Jeokbyeok-ga by Master Kim Ilgu
Sept. 19 (Tue) 15:00 | Annex of Jeonju Dongheon House | Over 8 years | VIP : 100,000 won, R : 50,000 won
Jeokbyeok-ga sung by Kim Ilgu has been genealogically succeeded through Song Mangap, Park Bongrae and Park Bongsul. This style is included among the Dongpyeon (lit. east-side) styles. Kim Ilgu is renowned as being good both at high and low notes. For his distinct, clear voice, he is one of the first figures who appear in people’s mind when they are thinking about Jeokbyeok-ga. His Jeokbyeok-ga is powerful but also depicts every detail of the text delicately, and thereby makes audiences impressed and leads them to actively react. His sori (sound) and neoreumsae (acting) reflect and thus display his musical talent highly-refined through a lot of performance experiences.
On this stage, his son, Kim Dohyeon, performs with his father. He is also one of representing singers of Jeokbyeok-ga because of his amazing and refreshing voice. Inheriting his father’s talents, he also plays ajaeng with a great deal of artistry. Percussion play by Master Lee Taebaek as well as Kang Gilwon, a student of Kim Ilgu, beautifully support the performance.
