“Morning in Gyeonggijeon” with world-most elegant musics from the east and west! Harpsichord musics that represent 17-18th century’s European musics, and pungryu musics in Joseon Dynasty of the same period meet each other on a single stage. Harpsichord is a representative keyboard instrument of the pre-piano period. It is typologically categorized as a plucked-string instrument and sounds similar to yanggeum among Korean traditional instruments. “Traditional gagok” with lyrics from sijo (a traditional form of poetry) is a traditional vocal genre developed and enjoyed among the elite class people of Joseon Dynasty. Gagok is sung by a male or female singer with accompaniment played with various instruments centering around geomungo. Let us watch what kind of synergy will be achieved through this new musical confrontation between the two different genres under the great scenery of Gyeonggijeon.
