Sept. 16 (Sat) | Norimadang | For all ages | Free
Gia Lai Province located in the central highlands of Viet Nam is the dwelling place of forty or more ethnic groups. Among these people, traditional musics and dances with cồng chiêng, designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and other bamboo-made instruments including To rung, K‘ni, and Klong Put, have been succeeded. On the stage for 2023 Jeonju International Sori Festival, the performance team composed of musicians of Jrai and Bahnar ethnic groups will introduce traditional musics that reflect people’s ways of life, including a work song on the returning way to one’s village after getting water, a song of praying for the village’s prosperity, and et cetera.
