Mazzika Band

Mazzika Band is a multicultural project ensemble formed in 2020 by Korean and Egyptian musicians to introduce the rich musical heritage of the Arab world to Korean audiences. The band reinterprets the Arab musical tradition of Tarab—an aesthetic of profound musical and emotional expression—along with classical Arabic music, blending Middle Eastern and Korean musical elements into a contemporary performance.

Inspired by legendary Arab artists such as Umm Kulthum and Fairuz, Mazzika Band breathes new life into timeless melodies, presenting them in ways that resonate with today's audiences.

More than a performing group, Mazzika Band serves as a cultural bridge between Korea and the Arab world. Through sophisticated arrangements and expressive performances, the ensemble explores the shared characteristics of the two musical traditions—from scales and rhythms to musical sensibilities—creating a unique artistic experience where cultures meet in harmony beyond borders.
