Time to Communicate with Foreign Musicians through Music

Opportunity to enjoy world music genres in person which are usually difficult to approach. The audience and musicians on the stage becomes one through music beyond their nationalities. You can get kind explanations about unfamiliar music and instruments of other countries.



Born in Nantou City 1991, TSENG Chien-yun is the most famous Souna musician from her generation in Taiwan. She graduated from the National Taiwan University of the Arts with a master's degree in Chinese Music. Tseng has received several awards and had extensive performance experience. In 2014, she won the top prize and Audience Award in the Suona Competition held by National Chinese Orchestra. The chairman of the jury, YAN Huichang, praised: "She conquered all the juries with the dynamic and delicate layout of music level, also the charming style on the stage. She is the pride of Taiwan!"

She has cooperated with many important traditional orchestras such as Taiwan National Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and Singapore Chinese Orchestra. Apart from touring in China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, and the other countries, she also was invited to perform a concerto with the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. As well as a soloist, she won the Best Performance Award of the 2nd Chuige Festival in Hebei, China. In 2016, Tseng recorded an album with Taiwan National Chinese Orchestra.
