Byeori Gugak Group
Byeori Gugak Group is a gugak team that consists of young gugak musicians from North Jeolla Province founded in 2010, and ‘byeori’ means a strong rope that could be pulled while knotting a mesh of a net. The group is planning to understand the byeori of Korean traditional music and develop it in the modern style.

Jeollabuk-do REDCON Music Creating Institute has been chosen as one of the developing projects of ‘regional music creating institutes’ supervised by The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2017. This project was planned to give help to local musicians in order to let them create their own music more stably, providing them with programs devoted to discovering new musicians, mentoring, and manufacturing albums and performances. Jeonju Int’l Sori Festival, as the leading Korean festival that gives artists opportunities to show off their talent, will set a special stage for the teams chosen for the REDCON Music Creating Institute Project. There will be three types of stages ready for them. ‘REDCON Foundation Stage is only for the chosen teams, REDCON Day with the Double Stage program, and lastly, collaboration with foreign groups invited by Sori Festival.
